About me
The story in regards of the “hot-mess” personal trainer/sport psych in question
Fran Mesa (Table?)
Personal Trainer and Sport Psychologist?
Unlike many of my colleagues, I didn’t know what it was like to want to play a sport until after I was 17yo, when I started practicing martial arts and combat sports.
And it took several more years until I really learned to enjoy physical exercise in general; because, to be honest, I always thought that sports were not for me.
It was thanks to martial arts, when I finished my psychology degree in Granada, that I discovered that perhaps the world of sports was for me.

Determined to get into this world, I specialized in Sports Psychology and began to take my first professional steps, but I was far from finishing.
I don’t want to extend this too much, so in conclusion: poorly planned goals, shitty strategies, absolute ignorance and another series of events led me to one injury after another, which ended up making me start seriously with strength training and, surprise surprise… I ended up liking it.
As I am a bit of a restless-ass and… I like that, I ended up doing the Ciclo Superior de Deporte (former TAFAD) and different kinds of academic background on strength training, injuries and others.
Life sometimes decides for us, so after a couple of years working as a trainer and rehabilitator for others, I ended up having to move from one place to another and I ended up settling down on my own, as you can see.
My last dilemma was facing a complicated decision… what kind of professional did I want to become? Life, again… was there to give me the answer and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
I am currently dedicated to making physical exercise accessible to people who, like me, did not know how to train or enjoy it.
As a psychologist I am a firm defender that the context is key to everything we do, so I also consider it essential to know the context in which people are immersed. This implies that my work approach has a gender perspective and not a weight-centric one, among other things.
What I mean with all this is that you’re in a SAFE space!
